The first telephone

Robert Hooke created the first acoustic telephone which had no electricity.

Morse code

1838

Samuel B. Morse understood how to send messages also to transmit a pattern of sounds, this was known as Morse Code.

In 1876 Graham Alexander Bell invented the first ever electrical telephone.

First Wireless Phone call

1880

Graham Alexander Bell worked on his invention and came up with the photophone, which could send sound on a beam of light. That was history's first wireless phone.

1930

AT&T created the Iconophone which is a phone that let people see, hear, and reply to each other in real time.

The first text message

The worlds first commercial text message was sent out in 1992, it was written and sent by the employees of a company known as Logica CMG

First smart phones

1993

The first smart phones came out for the public to buy. IBM created one called Simon, which had a touch screen and could touch and recieve documents.

Sprint opens the first personal communications service. It was the first cellular network designed for private use for individuals who own cellular phones.

Phone calls

Technology is developed to transmit phone calls over internet. Long -distance charges could be avoided through the use of established computer networks.

Both the iTunes Store and the Android market opened up for smartphones users in 2008. This starts the beginning of a huge surge in the popularity of apps

4G handset

2010

Smartphones continue to develop in 2010. The first 4G handset was released in 2010, bringing data onto consumers phones at blazing-fast speed.
