When The Members First Met
John Lennon already involved in another band known as The Quarry Men, invited Paul McCartney be the guitarist for the band. Soon after Paul joined, he suggested his friend George Harrison to a band member. At first the band was wary to allow George to join because he was only 14 years old. The Beatles Performed On Television For The First TIme
The Beatles played their song Please Please Me on the television show Thank You Lucky Stars. This performance was crucial for the band to become successful. Shortly after their song She Loves You became the number one song on the UK charts. After this every household in England knew who the Beatles were. Photo by Den Haag. The Album Rubber Soul Was Released
This album signified the bands transition into a newer and more complex music style. Band member George Harrison incoprated Indian instrument, the sitar, into their songs. Other bands such as The Rolling Stones and The Byrds were inspired to use Eastern influenced melodies in their music.

The Beatles Stop Touring
The group became increasingly tired of performing. They recieved threats from various groups including the Ku Klux Klan. After playing at Candlestick Park, in San Francisco the band decided to stop performing. This led to another shift in their style. Without the constraint of perfoming live, the band changed their image. The band members grew their hair out and John Lennon started to wear his iconic circular

The Band Officially Breaks Up
John was the first to leave the group, but kept private from the public for almost a year. It wasn't until April when Paul decided to end the group. Many theorized it was the conflict between band members and John's partner Yoko Ono. Althougth unkown, the Beatles continue to make a impact and are beloved today.
