Camera Obscura
- Created by Ibn al-Haitham (aka Alhazen)
- This is an ancient technique
- Estimated to be invented in 11th century
- It was basically a dark room or a box. A inverted image was reflected through a hole in the wall.
- The artist would then trace the silhouette of the object.

- Titled "View from the Window at Le Gras"- Taken by Joseph Nicephore Niepce- The exposure time was an estimated 8 hoursThe chemical used was "Bitumen of Judea”. When exposed to light, Bitumen hardens so when washed, the unhardened material was removed. The metal plate was polished creating a negative image. This was coated in ink, which produced a print.
