The history of Earth

  • 4600 BCE

Forming of the sun (4.6 Billion years Ago)

The solar system started as dust cloud. 4,6 billion years ago a star nearby exploded, resulting in a shockwave hitting the dust cloud. This formed the sun

    History of earth

  • 4550 BCE

    Primary Accretion

Primary accretion is when dust collided with each other creating little clumps. After 100,000 years a rock was formed that could further grow. This process continued for another 10 million years.
  • 4540 BCE

    Earth formation

It is believed that earth was formed by many collisions after the solar system was created. All these impacts increased our planet in size
  • 4500 BCE

    Moon's formation

There was an asteroid that hit the earth that was roughly the size of mars, it didn't destroy the planet, but it did destroy itself and the earth's atmosphere. The debris of this asteroid left from the collision condensed into the Earth's moon
  • 4400 BCE

    Core formation

After the collision, earth was very heated up. Later on, when the planer started to cool down, the lava became rock and liquid water started to condense.
  • 4000 BCE

    Late accretion stage

Pluto-like objects crashed into planets - deposing metal in the surface of the planets.
  • 3800 BCE

    Late Bombardment

Comets were hitting the planets, and it is believed that there was a comet carrying water that hit the earth which supplied the water supplies within eath
  • 1700 BCE

    The big chill

The volcanic eruptions and rock weathering that accompanied the supercontinent breakup had trapped carbon dioxide, which caused the planet to significantly cool down
  • 1500 BCE

    First life

This is when the oxygen and atmosphere levels rose, along with there being evidence of animals showing at the same timeline
