    Charles Grimes was believed to be the first the European to explore the Yarra River.

    Eventually Melbourne settled in 1835 by the European people.

  • John Dight who founded Dights falls moved to Port Phillip

    His flour mill buisness was up and running for a year than he decided to move to Port Phillip.

  • First steam powered flour mill was made

    After the First Steamed Flour Mill was created, later on Dight build his Water Powered Mill.

  • Wooden weir was built

    In 1895, a Wooden Weir was built, but later proven in-efficient because it is unlikely to retain underwater.

  • Rock-Fishway was constructed

    In 1993, the rock-fishway was constructed but was proven in-efficient recently.

  • New Fishway and Weir Constucted

    In 2010, a new fishway was built and the old weir replaced due to its lack of reliablility.
