In 1822, Charles Babbage, an English inventor, began to develop the first computer. this is recorded to be the first automatic computing machine that was capable of computing several sets of numbers and making hard copies of the results. -

First transistor computer
in 1953, Tom Kilburn, Richard Grimsdale and Douglas Webb at Manchester University created the first transistor computer using 2000 transistors. it was used as, well a calculator really. it didnt have a purpose as such but was created to see if it transistors would work. -

In 1997 in California, Reed Hastings and fellow software executive Marc Randolph co-found Netflix to offer online movie rentals for a small price. It was the first of its kind and offered an oray of movies that were popular at the time. -
Facebook invented
Facebook was invented by Mark Zuckerburg in 2004. he was a Harvard student. as soon as the site was set up it was a sucess but later some of his fellow students claimed he stole the idea and Mark was done for fraud. the idea came about as part of a project the students were working on. -

YouTube began when three former PayPal employees started to create a video-sharing website on which users could upload, share, and view videos.The Internet domain name "youtube.com" was activated on February 14, 2005.
YouTube was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim, who were all early employees of PayPal. Prior to PayPal, Hurley studied design at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Chen and Karim studied computer science together at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champai. -

Pinterest was created by Paul Sciarra, Even Sharp and Ben Silbermann in 2010. it was a way that people couls share pictures off the internet of things they liked from clothes to houses. it took a while for the site to get going but quickly boomed with 100,000's of users around the world. -

Instagram was created by two men from San Fransisco called Kevin Syndrom and Mike Krieger. and was launched as a free mobile app for Apple devices. since then it has become avalible for Android too. they created it because they wanted a way for people to share pictures on the internet in an easy way. it was an instant success with 8,000 followers in a week. -
when was Snapchat invented
Snapchat was created by Even Speigel and Bobby Murphy at Stanford University as a project for one of Even's classes. the idea was met with confusion as people didnt undersatnd why you wouldnt want a perminant picture. They created it as a way for people to share what was going on in their live but not perminantly as when a Snap dissapears it is deleted off the Snapchat data base. -
