  Charles Drew was born on June 3, 1904, in Washington D.C.

  Drew was the oldest son of a carpet layer. He won medals for swimming when he was young.Then he branched for football, basket ball, and more. In 1922, Drew went to Amherst Collage on a sports scholarship.

  In 1926, Drew completed his degree for Amherst Collage but, he did not have enough money to go to medical school. So he worked as a biology instructor and a coach at Morgan Collage

  1928, He applied for medical schools and enrolled at McGill University.

  In 1933, Drew got both of his degrees. The Doctor of Medicine and the Master of Surgery degree.

  He became an instructor at Howard University's medical school in 1935.

  In 1938, Drew made a way for blood plasma or blood without cells to be stored or "banked".

  In 1941, Drew made another blood bank for the American Red Cross.
 - 
  
  On April 1, 1950, Drew and three other physicians went to a meeting. Drew crashed near Burlington. His passengers survived the crash but Drew did not.
