The Motorola DynaTAC
Dr Martin Cooper, a Motorola researcher and executive made the first phone call from a handheld mobile phone. The Motorola DynaTAC took 15 years of development before it was made available to the public market. It was considered to be a lightweight cell phone of about 28 ounces and it was considered high- tech and advanced. -

These systems would allow people to make easier calls, better connection, stronger signals, and improved quality. They were hand-held and portable weighing around 150grams. Consumer base rapidly expands. The technology that was worked on in this time period would be known as second generation. -
