Today is Purim, a Jewish holiday Lola's mother gets shot and dies Kurt Kollner enacting revenge for another German soldier going into his territory and shooting his Jews. -

A few months after Lola mothers death, Babcia her grandmother is aside Lola's right before bed explaining she sneaking out of the ghetto that night. Babcia does not go with lola instead tekla picks Lola up at the bridge -
spring of 1943
Tekla's son in law works in the fields even though it is still windy and cold and Lola is scared and afraid of him because he doesn't want her there. -

A final "action happended in the town of czortkov and the whole town was liquidated and all Jews were killed including babcia -
summer 1943
A couple of months after Lola got to the house a man and a woman come in while Lola was in the living room. Lola acted fast and pointed to her mouth and ears, Tekla took a hint and said she was deaf and mute and the son in law threatens to take her to the gestapo and Tekla in the middle of the night took her to her sisters house. Ana the sister places her into a 6 by 6 hole with 3 other Jews -
January of 1944
Just after the new year Anna tells Lola and the others that German is losing the war and starting to retreat. -

Lola and the others hear fighting nearby they can hear the tanks and the crack of gunfire it used to be a horrible scary sound now it is a good sound -
A morning in march
Anna comes in and tells them they have been "liberated" before sunrise the next day Lola and the others climb out of the hole they have been in for 9 months -

Russian controlled Czortkov which was officially liberated on March 23, 1944. -
March 25-26, 1944
Germans come to the Czortkov trying to reclaim the territory that was once there's. Lola had to leave Czortkov cause rose refused to take her back to the farm house. -
April 4, 1944
Lola is about 9 and a half years old Lola has been walking for a while until she passes out, she is found by a man who knew her dad, that man took her to a house then she stayed there until Russians came and took her. -
April 10, 1944
Lola had to go door to door to beg for food, she sits on the steps until a Russian solider offers to bring her to an orphanage in Kiev. -
April 12,1944
the Russian soldier has to drop Lola off in a small town named griztiv due to fighting over where she was originally supposed to go. at the place the soldier explained that Lola was supposed to go to the orphanage but cannot. a man offers to take her in so she does. -
April 12, 1945
Sergei finally finds one of Lola's relatives and contacts him, the relative can not come and pick her up. as he has tried to but sent to jail and then he bailed himself out. but while in jail uncle George gets sick. -
D-day June 6, 1944
d-day is when Americans teamed with the British and started pushing the beaches. on this day we lost many brave soldier but that started pushing Germany back -

The Germans completely disappear from Czortkov -

Lola turns 10 years old while living with seregai (the guy who took her in) she dealing with big emotions of being tossed around not really loved. seregai started sending letters to Czortkov to try and find relatives -
April 30, 1945
Adolf Hitler commits suicide -
V-E-day, May 7, 1945
Germany surrendered so this day is known as "victory in Europe." -

during this time it was early the Poles,and Ukrainians were still killing Jews even though the war was over. -

Lola got onto a train with a man that soon brought Lola to her uncle. once with her uncle Lola is so numb that she doesn't cry she feels as if she should though but once again she cant she has had it in her mind that she can only rely on herself -

Lola was in uncle Georges house uncle Issac shows up Lola liked where so lived until she moved cause of the tension between the Ukrainians and poles against Jews. -

Lola finds herself in Eztwich is a displaced persons camp. she spends almost a year then she tries to go to Israel because she doesn't want to go to America -

Lola starts high school but drops out to work full time because she takes care of herself. She doesn't ask her aunt and uncle for anything. -

Lola is a teenager but still feels like a child. the only thing she knows for sure is that she can walk. This is all stemming from her trauma in WWII. -
September 1950
Lola graduates at 16 with her computer operator certificate. she starts working at Saks 34th streets during the day and starts high school during the night but yet again she drops out -
April 1952
Lola and Walter get married and Lola goes to school and gets her high school diploma -

Lola goes to Brighton Beach were she ends up meeting her husband he is 11 years older than him and from Poland. -
1955
Lola is 21 and worked until the birth of her first child, Deborah Renee. she was named after her mother Dwoja and after Walters mother Rachel, the live in one bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. -
1958
Lola second child is born, Michael Jay. he is named after Walters father and Lola's father. Walter has gone to school to design patterns on clothes and then they move into the suburbs of long island -

Lola is 28 years old and has been living America for 13 years. she opens the New York post and an article with the head line "NAZI OFFICER GETS LIFE FOR 9 MURDERS. that means her mothers murderer was held in court and sentenced life her mother and many other killing -

Memorial day weekend 1991
50 years of silence was broken on this day when Jane mark asked Lola for an interview for a book on hidden children, Jane unlocks not just Lola word but her emotions too. -

Jane marks book on hidden children during WWII is published, Lola's story has been told for the first time. -
