The Treaty of Ghent was signed to end the War of 1812 by British and American representatives. It allowed the U.S to expand upon the Great Lkes region and was looked at as a victory for the U.S. -
Monroe Doctrine
It was a U.S forgeign plan that specified that any future efforts from European countries would be looked at as acts of aggression insisting the U.S would have to intervene.
