The Green Mile

  • Event #1

    We are first introduced to the protagonist of the sotry, Paul Edgecombe. Paul is in a nursing home, telling the reader about his time working on "The Green Mile" at Cold Mountain Penitentiary, where prisoners wait their turn to visit the electric chair.

  • Event #2

    John Coffey, a black man convicted for the rape and murder of two young girls, arrives to Cold Mountain. The reader is also introduced to other prisoners; Eduard "Del" Delacroix, Arlen Bitterbuck, and Will "Wild Bill/Billy The Kid" Wharton.

  • Event #3

    The other guards we are introduced to are Brutus "Brutal", Percy, Harry, and Dean. The reader finds out that Percy is a sadistic man intent on being in charge of the next execution. No one likes Percy.

  • Event #4

    Coffey heals Paul's UTI, and revives Mr. Jingles after Percy stomps on him like an idiot.

  • Event #5

    We find out Paul has a lady friend in the nursing home. Paul comes to the cunclusion that Coffey has bomb healing powers. Percy gets thrown into the restraint room in a straight jacket becuase he is real messed up.
