Nick gets invited to Daisy and Tom's Dinner Party
Daisy is Nick’s cousin and she is married to Tom. Daisy calls Nick and invites him over to eat dinner. While he is there he meets Jordan Baker who would soon be his girlfriend. She is a professional golfer. While they're sitting at the table, Tom gets a phone call. While he and Daisy go to pick it up, Jordan explains to Nick that it's his other lover that is on the phone. -
Nick sees Gatsby for the first time
When Nick gets home from the Buchanan's he sees Mr. Gatsby standing outside on his front lawn looking at a green light then goes inside. -
Nick meets Myrtle
Tom and Nick take a train to Wilson's garage where Nick meets Tom's lover Myrtle otherwise known as George Wilson’s wife. Tom takes Nick, Myrtle, and George to the Morningside Heights apartment where he meets Catherine, Myrtle's sister, and the McKee’s. Near the end of their "party" everyone is drunk and Myrtle said Daisy's name. Tom did not appreciate that and Myrtle kept doing it. Tom finally got tired and slapped Myrtle. -
Nick gets invited to Gatsby's party
Gatsby chauffeur brings Nick an invitation to one of Gatsby's weekly party. -
Nick meets Gatsby
Nick walks over to Gatsby's house and starts to get bored. Soon he sees Jordan Baker and starts to talk to her. They start to hear rumors that Gatsby killed someone. Jordan decides she wants to find Gatsby. They start looking and soon find a man in the library that is very drunk named owl eyes. Just as they were about to give up they sit down at a table and Nick starts talking to a man who served in the war with him. The man ends up being Jay Gatsby. -
Nick and Gatsby go out for lunch
Gatsby takes Nick into New York to go eat lunch. On the way there Gatsby tells Nick his back story and how he attended Oxford University. When the get to the restaurant Gatsby introduces Nick to Meyer Wolfshiem who claims to have fixed the world series in 1919. -
Nick meets with Jordan
After lunch Nick sees Jordan who tells him what Gatsby was talking to her about at the party. Jordan tells Nick that Gatsby "loves" Daisy and that before the war and before she married Tom they were in love. Also that Gatsby only bought his house in west egg to watch Daisy. Gatsby has asked that Nick invite Daisy over for tea so that they can have a "reunion". -
Gatsby sees Daisy
After 5 years Gatsby and Daisy finally see each other again. Nick invited Daisy over for tea. When she got there she and Gatsby reconnected. -
Tom is at Gatsbys
Nick hadn't talked to Gatsby or Daisy and a while and decided to stop by Gatsby's house. When he gets there Tom is sitting on his coach and they're having drinks. They soon start to talk about Daisy and Gatsby has to awkwardly tell Tom he knows her. -
Myrtle dies
After the confrontation between Tom and Gatsby, Daisy and Gatsby drive home in Tom's car. Myrtle runs out into the street thinking it was Tom and Daisy hits her and drives away. Nick, Tom and Daisy drive home and find her. Gatsby took the blame for running over her. -
Nick, Gatsby, Jordan, Tom, and Diasy got to the city
Everyone is at Gatsby’s house and Daisy suggests they all go out to the city because she was bored. Gatsby agreed to take them out and at that moment Tom knew they loved each other. Tom, Jordan, and Nick ride in Gatsby’s car whereas Daisy and Gatsby rode together in Tom’s car. They stop at Wilson’s garage on the way and George tells Tom that he knows Myrtle is cheating on him. Tom then confronts Gatsby about his feelings for Daisy. -
Gatsby dies
Wilson was told that Gatsby was the one driving the car that hit Myrtle. George decides to go to Gatsby house and he shoots Gatsby then shoots himself. -
Gatsbys Funeral
Nick tries to get ahold of Daisy and Tom but is informed that they left New York with no contact information and nobody knows where they have gone. Nick calls many other people including Meyer and nobody seems to be able to attend his funeral. Soon Gatsby’s father arrives and tries to put everything together. At the funeral the only people who attend are the workers, Gatsby’s father, and Owl Eyes. -
Nick sees Tom
Nick decides he wants to move back to the Midwest. When he was about to leave he encounters Tom on the street. He admits to telling Wilson that Gatsby killed Myrtle and that Gatsby deserved to die.
