Exposition
Nick Carraway relocates to New York in 1922. He rents a house in a Long Island section called West Egg. Carraway becomes good friends with his myterious next door neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Gatsby secretly uses Carraway to rekindle his lost love with Daisy, Nick's cousin and wife of Tom Buchanan. -

Conflict
Gatsby once being poor lost the chance of marrying Daisy. In order to regain her love he throws expensive and wide spread parties that have no effect on her. With all his money, Gatsby still cannot win Daisy back due to the fact that she has moved on with her life and married Tom Buchanan. -
Rising Action
Things begin to go uphill for Gatsby when Nick arranges a casual meeting between Jay and Daisy. With the new found hope of their gathering, Jay's and Daisy's relationship progresses. Things also go astray when Nick discovers Tom's afffair with Myrtle. -
Turning Point
Jay along with Nick, Jordan, Tom, and Daisy all head to Baltimore to have drinks. Tom then decides to reveal Gatsby's past to Daisy resulting in a verbal fight. Gatsby confronts Tom about his relationship with Daisy and after their argument Daisy leaves with Gatsby. -
Falling Action
Daisy returning home with Gatsby, willlingly rejects Gatsby. As they are driving home Daisy accidentally hits her husbands lover, Myrtile Wilson with the car. After seeing Myrtile die, Daisy quickly drives away not looking back. -
Resolution
Goerge Wilson becomes angered when told by Tom that Gatsby murdered his wife. George shoots Gatsby, killing him and supposedly achieving justice. Daisy returns with Toms, and Nick moves back home after Gatsby's death.
