Betty McCloud is religious and believes that everything and everyone should be normal, just as God created them to be. -
Exposition 3
The McClouds are farmers. Piper McCloud is a young girl. Her mother and father are Betty and Joe McCloud. Millie Mae was the head of town gossip, not related to the McClouds. -
Conflict/Rising Action 1
Piper McCloud can fly. Betty tries to keep Piper on the ground so that she won't be seen by anyone (Millie Mae). Piper feels like she has to fly and tries to whenever she gets the chance. -
Exposition 2
The McCloud family lives in Lowland County. Lowland County is a country-ish area where most people don't like strange things and everything is normal. -
Rising Action 2
Piper wnats to fly instead of just floating, so she decides to jump off the roof so that she can fly for real. -

Rising Action 3
Piper tries to get away from Betty as much as possible so that she can learn how to fly better. She comes up with a phrase that triggers her flight powers. -
Rising Action 5
An important "government" association called I.N.S.A.N.E. comes to pick Piper up. Their leader, Dr. Letitia Hellion tells Piper that she will be safe at I.N.S.A.N.E. and that before she knows it she will be normal. Piper is suspicious, but Piper's parents (Betty) think that I.N.S.A.N.E. is the best option. -
Rising Action 6
Piper meets a girl named Bella who can create rainbows. In their first science class, a boy named Conrad killed her flower, Princess Marigold. Soon after Bella has a breakdown and turns most of I.N.S.A.N.E. different colors. -
Rising Action 4
Piper goes to a community picnic that she has been looking forward to for a long time. There she almost makes a friend named Sally Sue, but she found out that Sally Sue's mom is Millie Mae. There someone hits a fly ball really high and Piper flies to catch it. Everyone is afraid of Piper and the game is over. -
Rising Action 7
Conrad explains to Piper I.N.S.A.N.E.'s plan to drug the kids' food and make them permanently lose their powers and forget that they ever had them. -
Rising Action 8
Piper and Conrad ( mostly Conrad) come up with a plan to escape I.N.S.A.N.E. and get them selves home. -
Climax/Turning Point
All of the kids attempt to escape, but Conrad betrays them and warns Dr. Hellion. The children are all given large doses of drugs that detain their powers temporarily. -
Falling Action 1
Dr. Hellion puts Piper in a mind-erasing machine called the M.O.L.D. Piper's pet cricket, Sebastian, sings so loud that all of I.N.S.A.N.E. can hear. Hellion kills Sebastian and Piper forgets about her powers. -
Falling Action 2
Conrad worries when Piper is not in class the next day. He begins to regret his decision to bust the rest of the children. The rest of the kids don't trust him anymore. -
Falling Action 3
Piper comes back to class, only to shock the rest of her class. She can no longer fly, has no memory of anyone, and both of her legs are broken. -
Falling Action 5
The kids take down all the employees of I.N.S.A.N.E. one by one and finally get to escape. Piper tries to fly away, and Hellion reveals that she can also fly. Eventually she stops because she believes flying isn't normal, and falls to her doom. All the kids return home. -
Falling Action 4
Jasper, a boy who has been greatly affected by the drugs, remembers who he is. He then remembers that he has healing powers, and proceeds to heal Piper. Piper then regains all her memory and can once again fly. -
Resolution 1
Piper and her super-friends arrive at Lowland County and have another picnic, where both the normal and superpowered kids play a ball game together. -
Resolution 2
Conrad lives with Piper. Betty and Joe gave Conrad a room to be his office/study, where he invents lots of things. -
Resolution 3
Piper and Conrad are talking on the roof and Conrad sort of confesses his love for Piper by telling her that nothing is more important than she is.
