Monday
Dryden explains how with hockey, there are only 3 seasons (season, off-season, post-season) and 2 types of days (game days and practice days). This is an important chapter and part of the book because it explains how the book is going to be organized, by the days of a typical week for him. At the same time, it explains the entire season aswell. -
Tuesday
Here he explains how it is difficult yet easier than other choices to live in Montreal. He explains the diversity and that it is a bilingual city. He likes living there and likes the fame (most of the time). -
Practice
At practice, Dryden has an off day and doesn't get warm as fast as normal. -
Wednesday (Practice Day)
Dryden gives more detail to his family and his childhood. He explains a hockey game that him and neighbors would play often as young kids. This chapter really sums up how he became involved with hockey. -
Friday (Game Day)
The Canadiens have a fierce rivalry game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Canadiens win convincingly after a good performance by Dryden. Before the game he visits his family and feels the nostalgia from his childhood and where he use to play the game with his neighbors. -
Saturday-Sunday
Here he addresses the business side of hockey. He explains more about his retirement at the end of the season and his talks with the President of the Habs. -
"Too Many Men" Game
Facing Elimination for the first time in years, the Habs made it to game 7 against Don Cherry's Boston Bruins. At the beginning of the 3rd and final period, the Bruins had the 3-1 lead. Within ten minutes of the final period, the Habs score two goals to tie the game. Shortly after that, the Bruins score another goal to regain the lead. Then, with 2:34 left on the clock, the Bruins are called for a "too many men on the ice" (the penalty that receives most pity) penalty and the Habs have a power -
