    Tennis Court Oath
    The Third Estate swore an oath, in a commercial tennis court, that they would remain until France recieved a constitution.
  • Storming Of The Bastille

    Storming Of The Bastille
    The Bastille Prison held gunpowder, arms, and seven prisioners and a large crown had attempted to organize a gunpowder handover but the Govenor refused. The crowd broke into the prison and the prision guards opened fire and killed about 100 people from the crowd. When a few guards that had left the regiment opened the prison doors the govenor surrendered and was beheaded.
  • Women's March On Versailles

    Women's March On Versailles
    A group of about 7,000 working women marched to the King's Palace and demanded that the price of food lower and that the people unpatriotic towards the revolution be punished. They marched the royals and the national assembly back to France.
  • Flight To Varennes

    Flight To Varennes
    The Royal Family had tried to escape France and go to Austria where they were promised safe haven but King Louis XVI formaed an army to take back France. He failed and the Royal Family was captured not far from the Austrian Border.
  • Champ De Mars Massacres

    Champ De Mars Massacres
    When a crowd gathered to sign a petition for a republican constitution things got out of hand and the crowd turned on two individuals. The National Guard was called in and fifty people were killed thus creating more distrust from the revolutionaries in Lafayette and showing the beginning of two seperate revolutions.

    Storming Of Tuileries
    A movement marched into King Tuileries Palace and demanded that he wear the red bonnet and toast the nation, and he obliged. The crowd then demanded that he end his veto powers and recall Girondin ministers but he refused and the crowd dispersed.

    Formation Of Insurrectionary Commune
    A virtual parliment was created when the 48 local councils of Paris merged and demanded to be reconized as the govenment body for wokring people.
  • Overthrow Of The Monarchy

    Overthrow Of The Monarchy
    20,000 people werer organized by the Insurrectionary Commune for a demonatration against the King. About 3,600 of the King's soldiers were doubtfull towards him so when the crowd adavnced the guards switched to their side. Only the Swiss Guard stayed loyal to their King and refused to surrender. The King realized that he had been beaten and an agreement was made that the King would be handed over to the crowd.
  • September Massacres

    September Massacres
    The September Massacres occured when a mob killed 24 priests that were being transported to the Abbey Of Saint-Germain-des-Pres and 135 more prisioners were killed. there were more massacres over the next few days and over 2,000 people were murdered in all.
  • Republic Is Declared

    The National Convention set up a new constitution after the deposition of the King. France was proclaimed a Republic!
