The Roosevelt left NEW YORK to go to CAPE SHERIDAN. -

At Oyster Bay,NEW YORK,president Theodore Roosevelt came on board to wish them luck. -
Arrived at Cape Sheridan
The expidition arrived at CAPE SHERIDAN on the ROOSEVELT.And began training the new men for the art of dog driving,igloo building,and survival. -
There ready to go to the NORTH POLE
The expidition is ready to go to the NORTH POLE.The expiditon each brought a special possesion. -
BOB and GEORGE pioneered the trail
Captain Bob Barlett and Georg Borup both left CAPE COLUBIA to pioneer the trail. -

At 6:30 the next morning Henson and Peary lead the group out of Cape COLUMBIA. -
Caught up with BOB
MATT and PEARY caught up with captain BOB Barlett at the BIG LEAD on MARCH,4. -
Waiting along the GIG LEAD
On MARCH,5 the expidition was still waiting along the BIG LEAD till it was frozen over. -
BIG LEAD frozen
On MARCH 11 the BIG LEAD was frozen at -45f so the expidition rused over MATTHEW saw the sun reapear. -
ROSS MARRIN'S turned back
On MARCH,26 86 38; it was ROSS MARRIN'S turn to go back to the Roosevelt. -
Barlett sets out again
Bob Barlett set out again as a pioneer and found a BIG LEAD .Peary an HENSON caught up with him on MARCH 29,1909 later in the night Barlett got sepprated from the group becouse he was on a different ice flow then he jumped back where everyone els was. -
Barlett turns back
Bob Barlett had to go back to the ship Barlett he was disappointed. The expidition repaired the sleges and had aspecial treat boild dog. -
Started out again
At midnight Robert Peary and four excomose started out on foot in the front . -
Whent throu
Henson came up to a BIG LEAD he tride to cross it with his sledge but his runners broke though.Ootah save his live when he fell in. -
35 milels to go
April 6 before midnight the expidition raced off again.Matt and PEARY were 35 miles to go. -
Observaion
At 6:30 the next morning Peary took observaions.then Peary crisscrossed an area of 8 by ten mileles an took fourth set of observaion at noon. -
Made it back
On APRIL 23 the expiditon made it back to the Roosvelt the trip took 68 days.
