A corset is a garment used to stylize and mold the human figure. The purpose was to get a body, rigid and stylized for the ladies of the aristocracy and nobility. Around the age of twelve or thirteen, girls from wealthy families started using this garment. -

The New Look is a style in fashion design, created, in 1947. During the Second World War, clothes had to be made with the minimum of material. Women wanted women's clothing that did not look like a civil version of military uniforms. The "new look" dominated the fashion world for ten years and restored Paris as a world fashion center after the Second World War, thanks to the success of the house of Dior. -
