The Camera Obscura is made
The Camera Obscura created by An Arab physicist, Ibn al-Haytham, uses a pinhole or lens to project an image of a scene outside upside-down onto a viewing surface, is what photographic cameras were a development of originaly. -
First successful photograph
The first successful photograph of a camera image was made by Nicéphore Niépce. Using a very small camera he owned he projected the light onto a piece of paper with silver chloride on it which when exposed to light darkens. But the photo didn't last long because by viewing the image it had to be exposed to light until slowly the image became completely dark and not viewable. -
Daguerreotype camera
After Niépce's death in 1833, his partner Louis Daguerre continued to experiment and by 1837 had created the first working photographic process. After exposure in the camera, the image was developed by mercury vapour and ordinary salt. Then the Daguerreotype camera was made by Maison Susse Frères in 1839 with an adjustable focus -
Easy
With new chemicals and methods cameras only needed a few seconds of light exposure to make a picture. -
Film
Usually pictures had to be developed straight away but thanks to Richard Leach Maddox making film they do not. -
Polariod is invented
The Polaroid created by Edwin H. Land; allowed people to take a photo and have it developed immediately, right from the camera. -
colour
Polaroid releases the Model 100 Land camera, the first fully automatic pack film and exposure control camera with the first coloured film.. -
Digital camera
Steven Sasson as an engineer at Eastman Kodak invented and built the first electronic camera using a charge-coupled device image sensor. -
camcorder is released
Sony put out the first consumer camcorder, allowing people to record their memories in real time -
Public Digital camera
Canon put out the first digital camera for the public to use for their own recreational reasons. This device was improved multipal times and is still changed with new updated versions all the time, but they all use the same technology. -
Camera phones
The camera phone technology was first used in Japan, but it quickly spread around the world. Now almost all phones developed have cameras built in them to today. -
Wireless cameras
Kodak put out cameras that didn't have to be connected to a computer in order to download and share the pictures. Which made life for photographers a lot easier. -
Retro
Now polaroid cameras are cool because they are old and produce instant photos to put up. They are made more practically so its easy for kids to use for fun.
