Katherine Johnson
katherine johnson: she was american mathematician who calculated and analyzed the flight paths of many spacecraft. She was also one of the first black women who worked in NASA. In 1953 she started to work for the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA)’s West Area Computing unit. She was in a group with other African American women. Their job was to manually perform complex mathematical calculations for the program’s engineers. -
