  • The First Electric Vehicle

    The first electric car in the United States was developed in 1890-91 by William Morrison of Des Moines, Iowa.
  • The First Automobile Race

    The Chicago Times-Herald race was the first automobile race held in the United States. Sponsored by the Chicago Times-Herald, the race was held in Chicago in 1895 between six motorized vehicles and won by Frank Duryea's Motorized Wagon.

    In 1908 Henry Ford created the Ford Model T under the Ford Motor Company. They were sold from 1908 to 1927.

    GM was founded on September 16th, 1908 and it later became one of the biggest vehicle manufacturer in the U.S.

    The first sedan was the 1899 Renault Voiturette Type B. Then, the first four-person car that was called a sedan was the 1911 Speedwell, made in Dayton, Ohio.

    The Chevrolet Corvette holds the title of America's Sports Car, but it wasn't America's first postwar sports car. That honor belongs to Crosley Hotshot.
