    The Apple II included the same processing and speed as Apple I. The new features included a colored display, eight expansion slots, a case for keyboard, larger ROM, BASIC programming language, and more expanded RAM. Apple II was introduced in April 1977 and sold for $1295 (4K RAM).

    The first Macintosh computer was released on January 22, 1984 during the Super Bowl Half-time. The first Mac included 128 KB RAM, Motorola 68000 processor operating at 8MHz, 3.5” internal floppy disk drive, an increase from Lisa’s two disk drive, and a 384x256 pixel bitmap display. It cost $2,495 for the Mac, a lot less than the similar Lisa design that cost almost $10,000.

    iMac - 1998
    The new iMac, introduced on May 6, 1998 was a huge success compared to the first Macintosh computer. The iMac had no separate monitor, jungle of cables, and no external drives were necessary for the computer to function. It contained 233 MHz, 32 MB of RAM, 4 GB of hard drive, stereo speakers, and an integral 15” multiscan monitor. Clearly this iMac was a major improvement from the first Macintosh computer.

One can purchase this advancement in technology starting at $1119 for a 21.5” screen and $1699 for a 27” screen.
