First European Sightings
On this day James Cook on the Enderor made the first European sighting of the east coast of Australia. Captain cook explored the seas because England need more space to send their people. This impacted Australia’s history because we now have buildings, food and clothes. The aboriginals found this very hard because they didn’t know what was happening and they were trying to protect their land but England’s weapons were too advanced for them. -

Captain Cook Enters Bontany Bay
This is when Captain Cook first saw the people and he said that all seemed to want us gone. Captain cook sailed the world to find free land to becasue they needed a place to send there convits and needed space to expand there country and they thought that australia was free but really it was owned by the Aboriginals and they were very angry because they knew it was there land but they didnt now what these weird people were -
The First Fleet
Once Britain had lost to America in the War Of Independence they realised they needed an new place to send all of there convits to because they are overloading the prisons and jails in Britan. After Captain cook found australia he told britan and they sent there convits there in the first fleet that Britan sent over. When the first fleet arrived they didnt know what to expect and all there was, was dry red soil and people fighting for the land. -
The Gold Rush
This went on for 40 years. In the 1850’s an australian miner found gold in a town called Bathurst in NSW and then in Victoria in a town now called Ballarat. Then Chinese and British diggers and miners came to australia's gold fields to find their fortune and luck. A lot of people didn't find anything but they spent a lot of days either under ground digging or above panning for the gold.The aboriginals just watched this happen there land was ripped upped and even blowed up just for this resourse -
World War 1
In 1910 the horrible first world war started and 416,809 went to this war at gallipoli and 60,000 were killed and 156,000 were injured.This was horrible for the Australians.The first World war occurred because of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand the prince of Hungary by the Gavrilo Princip from Obljaj and was in a group of six assassins. This war was the first one so the men didn't know what to expect and when they landed at gallipoli the turkish soldiers shot them from the top of the hill -
World War 2
World War 2 was called the Great War for a reason 993,000 men went and fought at europe. 27,073 were killed in action or died, 23,477 were wounded, and 30,560 were taken prisoner of war. This event occured when Germany attacked Poland and because of that Britain and France declared a war after Hilter refused to stop the attack. The men found this hard when Darwin was bombed by the Germans.The Australian men were figting because they were apart of Britain federation. -
High Court
This is when Eddie Mabo found out that Australia was still a free country. The aboriginals would be have been angry at the time because they had their children stolen became slaves and watched there beautiful red soiled land be ripped apart with roads and jails and they watched the clear starry night turn into skyscrapers and polluted air.
