Several European countries settled to produce an organisation to strengthen cooperation between the countries of Europe. -
1950
The ideas were current by Robert Shuman, French minister of Foreign Affairs, in a lecture on the 9th May 1950. -
1951
In 1951, six European countries ( Belgium, France , Italy , the Netherlands, west Germany and Luxembourg) produce the European coal and steal communuty -
1957
In 1957 they marked the Treaties of Rome, which estabilished the European Economic Community and the European Atomic Energy Community. -
1958
EEC was estabilished: the 'Inner Six' -
1973
EEC was expanded to nine members. -
1975
European Regional development fund (ERDF) was estabilished. -
1981
EEC was expanded to ten members. -
1986
EEC was increased to twelve members and single European Act was marked. Also Spain joined .
