    Several European countries settled to produce an organisation to strengthen cooperation between the countries of Europe.
  • 1950

    The ideas were current by Robert Shuman, French minister of Foreign Affairs, in a lecture on the 9th May 1950.
  • 1951

    In 1951, six European countries ( Belgium, France , Italy , the Netherlands, west Germany and Luxembourg) produce the European coal and steal communuty
  • 1957

    In 1957 they marked the Treaties of Rome, which estabilished the European Economic Community and the European Atomic Energy Community.
  • 1958

    EEC was estabilished: the 'Inner Six'
  • 1973

    EEC was expanded to nine members.
  • 1975

    European Regional development fund (ERDF) was estabilished.
  • 1981

    EEC was expanded to ten members.
  • 1986

    EEC was increased to twelve members and single European Act was marked. Also Spain joined .
