Christopher Columbus Arrives.
14th Century explorer Christopher Columbus lands in the Caribbean islands and is welcomed graciosly by the current inhabiters of the land. Soon after he see's their lack in technological adavances, he took over, colonized the land with his people, and renamed it "Hispanhola." -
Jan 1, 1495
First Hispanic Capital Created.
Almost a whole century later Columbus builds his own Colony in the Hispanhola's in which the hispanic inhibitors immediatley label as the "First hispanic colony." -
Jan 1, 1509
Slave Trade Begins.
The Taino Indians(Puerto Rican Natives) & Domincan Natives were enslaved by Christopher Columbus and his men and sold to the Americas. -
Jan 1, 1514
ALMOST Wiped Out.
A few years later, after the slave trade system was implamented the Taino Indians were almost wiped off the face of the earth due to the Spaniards. -
New Leader of Spain.
Roughly 2 centuries later Napoleon Bonaparte overthrows the current king of spain and leaves it in new managment. -
The Dominican Republic Gains Independence.
Years after the new ruling in spain, a treaty was implamented which allowed the "Hispanhola" to be independent. The official name of the land till' this day is now named the "Dominican Republic." -
Dictator "Trujillo" Runs the Show.
Rafael Trujillo takes over the Dominican Republic and starts to kill
thousands of Haitians and Rebelious Dominican cvilians during his "term." (El Trujillo was very racist) -
The Radical Revolt. (THE REVOLUTION)
"El Trujillo" was assasinated and his government was taken over.
This is where the people of the Dominican Republic fought back for their land and freedom and took the fight to their own uncontrollable and ruthless government. Note: The government attacked with all of its power to make sure the Republic would not be restored. However, the rebels prevailed. -
Side Note.
The people of the Dominican republic's population dropped by 3000+ suffering with a Economic downfall. -
The End of the Revolution.
The Dominican Republic is under new government selected by the people. This is the end of the revolution.
