John Dalton
John Dalton came up with the modern atomic theory. He knew for every two hydrogens there would be one oxygen. Elements are made up of specific atoms and come together in a certain ratio and creates a compound. -
J. J. Thompson
JJ Thompson discovered the electron. He found out if you ran a magnet above a cathode-ray tube it bent the ray discovering electrons. He also found with positive charges there were also negative charges around it. -
Earnest Rutherford
He took a bit of gold foil and shot alpha particles at it and had a sensor to keep track of where the alpha particles would go. Some of the alpha particles would come shooting back up and he had discovered the nucleus. -
Niels Bohr
Bohr figured out you got a positive charge on the inside and electrons going around the outside however they go in specific orbit on the outside. -
Schrodinger
Schrodinger stated that electrons are not particles but they are waves.
