  • Accused of Witchcraft

    Samual Sewall went to the meeting-house in Salem. People that were being accused of witchcraft were there. He got to see how the afflicted people were disturbed by the news.

  • Execution at Salem

    On April 19, 1692, George Burroughs, John Willard, John Proctor, Martha Carrier, and George Jacobs were executed at Salem. A great number of spectators were present. Each of them claimed to be innocent.

  • Giles Corey

    Giles Corey, 81 years old, refused to plead to an indictment on the charge of whitchcraft, believing his estate would be confiscated if he pleaded guilty. After that he was pressed to death for standing mute.

  • Petition is Sent

    A petition was sent to town in behalf of Dorcas Hoar, who confessed. An order was sent to the sheriff to hold back her execution. She was the first condemned person to confess.

  • Sewall Get a Bill

    The bill stated that Sewall had call ministers. He had to do this fast. They thought the ministers would lead them in the right direction of the witchcrafts.
