  • Treaty Of New York

    Between the creeks and the U.S.It resulted positive ,because the rights of the creeks were protected. Alexander McGillivary was the Cherokee chief who fought in the Oconee War and signed the Treaty Of New York. Found in notes.
  • The Cotton Gin

    Eil Whitney invented the cotton gin.The cotton gin was created to allow the cotton seeds to be removed from the cotton fibers much quicker than could be done by hand. Slavery increased in the south.Found in notes about the cotten gin.
  • The Yazoo land fraud

    Georgia lost it's western territory by the Y.L.F when Leg.got bribed and the citizens did not like it.The Yazoo land fraud helped lead to the Cherokee in ''Trial of tears.'' Found in textbook.
  • The Land Lotteries

    Governor John Milledge called the legislature into a special session to pass a new policy.Each white male that had been in Georgia at least one year, and orphans under twenty one years of age got a chance in the lottery.GA textbook.
  • Dahlonega Gold Rush

    When gold was found in Dahlonega and people rushed to settle the land and get it.The land on which the gold was found belonged to natives,the settlers forced them off the land.Found in textbook.
  • The Cherokee

    Alexander Mcgillivray was the Cherokee chief who fought in the Oconee War and signed the Treaty of New York.It protected natives from the states being able to remove natives from their homes.Found the notes on the Battle of Natives American Removal.
  • The Creeks

    William McIntosh was the creek chief who signed the Treaty of Indian Springs, which gave away his land in exchange for personal wealth and was murdered for it.The government now owned the land and could force the natives off it so that white settlers could gain the land.This info came from Battle of Native American Removal notes.
  • The Railroads

    The railroad came into Georgia from North Carolina.Grew major cities in Georgia mostly in Atlanta.Got the info from my notes on the railroads in Georgia
