The political groups focused on spreading to the nation the red guard's horrible control. The Bolsheviks were the most powerful and supported group and overthrew the provisional government. And the Bolsheviks focused on ending their involvement in WWI .

    The Potsdam Conference was between the U.S.,Soviet Union and the United Kingdom. The conference was held at Cecilienhof by Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, Clement Attlee and President Harry S. Truman. The goal of this conference was to decide how to administer Germany and to work out peace treaty's, issues and reparations.

Russia dominated this territory to act as a buffer zone in case of future invasion.

This plan was made to help rebuild parts of Europe that needed it the most and were on the brink of converting to a communist nation. The U.S. gave out over 12 billion dollars to foreign countries. The main target was to rebuild factories to help the economy globally and locally. This was created by secretary of state Gorge Marshall.

    The Berlin Blockade was a major crisis when the Soviet Union blocked the allies from sending supplies and shipments to western Berlin. They blocked the Allies by railway, road and canal. The Americans were forced to join with the British to joint an operation to deliver supplies and food to the starving and desperate west Berlin.

    The Korean War was between South Korea(supported by the U.N) and North Korea(supported by China and the Soviets). The two battled until the U.N. troops were forced back into South Korea. The two nations decided on dividing at the 38th parallel and have never fully ended the war.

    Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were convicted of espionage for the Soviet Union. They were convicted of sharing top secret data about nuclear weapons in development by the U.S. Both were executed and there accomplices were sentenced to prison.

    The Army McCarthy Hearings were trials held by the U.S. senate's subcommittee. They were investigating army members and soldiers on accusations of preferential treatment. The case was between U.S. senator Joseph McCarthy and the U.S. military. There were alleged infiltration's within the ranks and possible security risks that were giving out top secret data.

    The Warsaw Pact was signed in Warsaw Poland. It was signed between the Soviet union and seven other socialist republics. The pact was to establish an economic trade between the groups that signed. This pact was made to counter the NATO forces. the main goal of the pact was for Russia a world leader to control more military powers on eastern Europe.

    Also known as the Hungarian uprising was a revolt against the Hungarian peoples republic. It lasted a month and the country was leaderless. this was the first loss in soviet control and thousands of people wanted new reform and to drive out the soviets. many organized into militias and the government quickly collapsed.

    The bay of pigs incident was a failed attempt made by the C.I.A. to use Cuban exiles to over throw Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution. The C.I.A. sponsored and trained forces to combat and fight Fidel Castro but the plans went wrong and the mission end in a horrible slaughter and failure.
