    What Happened: The US dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
    This increased liberalism because it made japan surrender and was officially the end of WW2.

  • Brussels Treaty

    What Happened: A treaty was signed between these 5 countries so that if one was attacked by the Soviet Union all member countries would assist one another. The US joined later and then it was renamed as NATO.
    It affected liberalism because it was a way to defeat the communist and stay protected by other countries in case of an attack.

    What Happened: The soviet Union blocked all resources into allied-controlled Berlin. The US and Britain helped by airlifting food and fuel to west Berlin.
    This decreased and increased liberalism because Berlin was attacked by the soviets and that decreased liberalism but by the US and Britain helping it showed that they had Berlins back and that increased liberalism.

    What Happened: The USA and communist vietnam got into war in order to stop communism in Vietnam, but Vietnam ended up driving the USA out of Vietnam. Vietnam was later named socialist Vietnam.
    This affected liberalism because capitalist USA was defeated trying to stop communism.

    What Happened: Canada and the US created an Aerospace Defence Command to help with missile warnings in case of an attack by the communist.
    it affected liberalism because it helped keeping people feel and stay safe and protected.

    What Happened: Because Cuba was socialist now the US decided to not lend Cuba anymore money and buy their sugar so the USSR decided to step in and join Cuba.
    This affected liberalism because the communist now had cole proximity to the US by having Cuba join them and that could have started a nuclear war.

    This affected liberalism because Poland finally stood up and fought for their rights and freedoms and ended up being independent after the protest.
