The 13th amendment was passed by congress. The 13th amendment was passed to abolish slavery. -
freedmen's burerau
The government supplied just freed slaves with cloths and food. Blacks got a school to go to. -
Lincoln was assasinated
Lincoln was assasinated by John Wilkes Booth. He was watching a play at Ford's theader. -
Black codes
In the year 1865-1866 black codes were passed. Black codes were ment to keep black as if they were inslaved but they really wernt so it was slavery in discuise. -
grand father clause
If you didnt take or failed the litercy test then you could vote if your father or grandfather voted too. Blacks couldent vote because they didnt have any education so they wouldnt pass the litercy test and their fathers or grandfaters were slaves and they wernt allowed to vote. -

The radical republicans were influences in the New england states. They were agenst slavery. -
poll tax
It required a tax to be payed in order to vote. Most blacks couldnt vote because they just got freed from slavery and had no money so it was like slavery in disscise. -
14th amendment
It granted sitizenship. It was passed june 9th 1868. -
15th amendment
The 15th amendment was ratified on February 3, 1870. It gave black males the right to vote or sufferage. -
jim crow law
Laws passed by sothern states to seperate whites and blacks. Also, to allow segragation. -

The winner won by popular vote. The election was held in the year 1876. -
literacy test
The litericy test was a test you had to take and pass inorder to vote. Blacks mostlikly didnt pass it because slaves couldnt get educated so they had no idea how to read or write. -
compromise of 1877
That was consisted on 5 people in every house. It was passed in the year 1877. -
