A Union General, General William T. Sherman,destroys Atlanta and then continues on a destructive march to the sea.Railroads are torn up, buildings are destroyed, crops are burned in an attempt to break the will of the South. -
Surrender at Appomattox Court House
Lee (Confederacy) surrenders to Grant (Union). Lee surrenders because he refuses to allow his troop's suffering continue, Grant grants the Confederates generous terms of surrender.
