These schools became places where young women working in factories learned the optimistic yet practical spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales. Saint Leonie later founded a school in Paris for girls from well to do families.

Father Bosco had a dream that the Blessed Virgin Mary told him that girls needed the same help as the boys he served Maria Domenica Mazzarello was the answer to that dream.It was not long after that Maria Dominica Mazzarello joined John Bosco in serving the needs of youth.
