Night of Broken Glass
Nazi's broke into many Jewish shops by breaking the glass (hence the name). They looted the shops and took everything inside, including a few people. The next day they took about (if not more) 30,000 men beacause they were Jewish. -
ESCAPE
Max Vandenburg leaves his family behind (to his dsmay) and goes into hiding, soon to be taken in by the Hubermanns. -
Arrival
9 year-old Liesel Meminger arives on Himmel St. and meets her foster parents, Hans Hubermann and Rosa Hubermann. -
The Grave Diggers Handbook
Liesel stole her first book, The Grave Diggers Handbook, from the sight of her bother's grave. This would be the first of many books. -
Death by Train
Liesel's brother died on the train ride to his and his sister's new foster home. -

World War 2 was declared. -
Hitlers Birthday
They celebrated, beacuse they thought he was good. Death (Narrator) says that one thing Germans love to do is burn things. They threw many books, posters, ect. Whatever they could find. Little did they know three boooks were saved. -
The Book Theif Strikes again
After a giant fire Lesiel saw that 3 books had survived, since she only ever had 1 book (The Grave Diggers Handbook) she investigated. She stole one of the three books that survived that fire, and the other two were burned when found. She never got caught. -
The Standover Man
Max gives a book made from his own (Mein Kampf) painting over the words. It represented his life. He gave it to Liesel as a late birthday gift and she loved it,. She read, and re-read, it many times. -
Do You Want To Build a Snowman?
Christmas Eve
Leisel brought a snowball down to Max for his "Weather Report". He asked for more and, with the help of Hans Hubermann, they had enough snow for a snowball fight, and a snowman. -
War
Germany is at war with Russia. -
Air Raids
Enemy's of German start air-raids, people must hide in air raid shelters. -
Welcome Home!
Hans Hubermann is released from the army and come home to Himmel St. after hs leg was broken. -
FINISHED!
Lesiel finished her first book that she had ever written, The Book Thief. -
Bombing
Himmel St. was bombed, there was only one survivor. -
Reunion
Max Vandenburg is released from a concentration camp and finds Liesel in Alex Steiners shop.
