Foster parents
During the war, Liesel has to go to a different home and be fostered. Her foster parents are Hans and Rosa hubberman, They suggest the name mama, and papa right away. This is critical because mama, and papa help Liesel become who she did through out the book. -
Liesel steals her first book
after the death of her brother, Liesel is driven to steal her first book, The Grave Diggers Handbook. This is important because this sets the pattern for the rest of the book. -
Liesel meets Rudy
Little did Liesel know, but her and Rudy would come to grow close through out the book. I included this because Rudy was one of Liesels friends and he helped her through everything. -
Liesel wants to contact her real mom
At achool, she writes letters to her biological mom. She uses the money that was supposed to be for her foster mom to mail them. Liesel hasnt seen her real mom in months, and after the death of her brother, she just wanted to see some family. I put this in because Liesel did everything just to contact her mom, that means it was an important time in Liesels life. -
Hans teaches Liesel to read
Liesel was desperate to learn hoe to read her new book, so Han hubberman, her foster dad, taught her. I included this because Liesel didnt know this simple skill and this started her love for books. -
The Mayors Library
The mayors wife and Liesel have come close in the book. The libraary becomes a safe place for Liesel. I included this because This becomes a crucial place for liesel. -
Hitlers Birthday
There was a big celebration in honor of hitler. They burned alot of things, including books. Liesel couldnt stand that, so of course Liesel stole her second book. I included this because it was liesels second stolen book. -
Death has a heart
Death forshadows Rudys death earlier in the book. He says that it was like a robbery and he was so young and had so much life in him. Death acyually expressed feelings showing he doe have a heart, and he does care. I included this because it shows more about death as a character. -
Max Vanderburg
Max starts to house with the hubbermans to escape the holocaust. He is german, but his father saved Hans Hubbermans life, So they took the risk. Max soon becomes an important piece of the novel, that is why I put this event in. -
The Search
The nazis check all th houses on teh street to see if they are good for storage. I included this because they were all worried abiut tehm finding max and what the consequences would be, -
Bombing
Himmel street was bombed. Many people were lost, including Rudy, Rosa, and Hans. Liesel survived. I included this because it is the end of the book and alot of the people Lieslel cares about dies. -
Liesels death
Liesel dies many years after the bombing. she lived ffar away from meminger and lived very old. I included this event because she was the main charater and she died.
