The Birth of my Dad
My dad was born in 1956 in Eureka, California. He was born at St. Joseph Hospital.He is the first born child of Henry and Francis Lambert. -
His sister is born
His sister was born when my father was five years old. When she was born from the photo you can tell that he was facinated with her. My dad and his sister are still really close and they talk to each other regularly. -
The schools he went to
My dad attended the public schools of Eureka, CA. He went to Franklin Elementary, Zane Junior High and Eureka High School. Dad was a very good student. His mother was a kindergarten teacher. He liked school and learning. -
He Started Hunting
My dad's favorite hobby is hunting. Hunting is an important part of his life because it was something he and his dad really enjoyed doing together.He started to hunt when he was twelve. He still hunts today. Now that I am old enough I will hunt with my dad just like he did with his dad when grandpa was alive. -
What high school did you go to.
My dad went to Eureka High School. While he was in high school he played football and ran track. Because he was a highly intelligent and motivated student he took college level math and science at Humboldt University while still in high school. -
What classes did you take in college?
He took Computer system Design, Operating programing, Complier programing, Network Databases. These are important classes becasue these classes are what lead him to get his first job. -
What college did you go to?
My Dad started college during his senior year in high school, California State University, Humboldt (CSUH). He went to CSUH for his first two years of college. He transferred as a junior to UC Berkeley where he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in June 1978. My dad also earned a Masters degree at Stanford Graduate School of Business in June 1993 -
My dad goes to Italy for the first time
My dad went to Italy and France with his grandfather to see his family. This was an important time in his life becasue he probably would not have had the opportunity to meet these relatives otherwise. -
What was your first job
My dad's first job after college was at ROLM. As an engineering manager he helped develop what became the very first voice mail system. Impressive! -
He decides to live in California
Upon graduating college he was given the choice to stay in Californa or move to a different state. He decided to stay here because he grew up in CA and really enjoyed living in the Bay Area. -
What was you first place you lived in?
My dad rented a apartment 2 days after he got his first job offer. His apartment was in Sunnyvale, CA. It was an efficiency unit known as a bachelor pad. -
My dad went on an African Safari
During a sabbatical from work,my dad took a vacation to Africa where he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. He also went on a wild animal safari. He had a wonderful time in the Tanzania. He really liked all people he met during the trip. -
My dad Climbs Kilimanjaro
My dad wanted to try something different so he decided to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. It took him a total of 6 day to climb the mountain. On account of weather conditions, he was disappointed because he couldn't see anything from the top of the mountain -
My Dad when to the Great wall of China
Another thing that my dad wanted to to see in his life time was the Great Wall of China.He was truly suprised at how big and long in length it was. -
My Dad got married
My dad married Kathy Vasko on May 6. My parents took close friends and family to Hawaii with them to witness the blessed event. My parents were married in the Fern Grotto on Kauai and honeymooned in Maui. -
He moved in to his first home.
My parents lived in a condiminum when they first married. My mom was jogging by and found the house she wanted so she called my dad and the rest is history. -
My dad got a job a Cisco
My dad worked for the same employer for twenty four years before going to work for Cisco Systems. The new job offered greater responsibility and new things to learn. This was prior to my parents starting their family. -
My dads first child was born
My parents first child was a cute, baby girl, Emilia. He was proud, happy, and excited that he had his baby girl. -
My dad's second child was born
Fifteen months after Emilia was born I came along. I was a healthy, happy, bouncy baby boy. -
My dad retired from work.
My dad had the best job that he could ever have in his whole life. During the economic downturn he was offered a package to retire. He took the opportunity to stay at home becase he wanted to spend time with his family. When he retired we went on an R.V. trip visiting 7 National Parks west of the Rockies for almost the entire summer.
