This treaty was with Great Britain and it made the Britts get off of American land and nothing else. -
The Whiskey Rebellion
Congress started to tax more on whiskey and the people didn't like that so they rebelled and when the tax collecters came to their doors the people would tar and feather the tax collecters. Washington got mad at this behavior and sent out the army to control the people. This showed the peop[le that the government could enforce the laws if necessary in the U.S. -
XYZ Affair
There were 3 Frenchmen that had come to bribe the American's so that they would stop attacking the ships. they wanted $250,000 and they would stop this only enraged the president. -

This was when the u.s. frigates battled the French navy. Adams was hesitent to declare war because he hoped that the fighting would soon stop. -
The Kentucky and Virgina resolves
Jefferson and Madison said that the ruls in the Alian act and the Sedition acts was unconstitutional and those rules didn't have to be fallowed according to the 1st amendment. -
The 1800 Campain
This campain was between Tomas Jefferson and Aron Burr. There was a tie and the House of Representitves had to vote. Hamilton persuaded several congressmen not to vote so in the end Jefferson won and became the 3rd president of the U.S. -

Marbury v. Madison
Adams apointed Willium Mabury as the new justice of the peace for the District of Columbia. Marbury had not delivered his formal papers of appointment, but, President Jefferson told his secratary of state James Madison not to do so. Marbury sued for an order focing Madison to send them. The people were scard and thretened to impeach id he orderd Madison to deliver the papers. -
Marbury v. Madison Continued
Marshal said that according to Sec. 13 of the Judituary Act under which Marbury had filed said that he had to go to a samller court before it. -
John Adams is dead
It was so sad that he died on independance day. -
