    In 1937, the brothers Dick and Mac opened the first fast food restaurant in the city of San Bernandino, California, the menu consisted mainly of nine items: hamburger, cheeseburger, soft drinks, milk, coffee, potato chips and a slice of pie.
  • Dunkin' Donuts

    Dunkin' Donuts
    The story of Dunkin’ Donuts began in 1948 with a donut and coffee restaurant in Quincy, Massachusetts called “Open Kettle.” Founder William Rosenberg served donuts for five cents and premium cups of coffee for ten cents. Rosenberg renamed his restaurant “Dunkin’ Donuts” in 1950. His goal was to, “make and serve the freshest, most delicious coffee and donuts quickly and courteously in modern, well merchandised stores,” a philosophy which still holds true today.

    The origin dates back to 1939, when Harland D. Sanders began preparing crispy chicken at a restaurant in North Corbin, Kentucky from a recipe he himself created from eleven spices. It was not until 1952 that the first KFC franchise was opened in Salt Lake City, Utah.

    In 1953, a Jacksonville, Florida, man named Keith Kramer, along with his wife's uncle Matthew Burns, looked to create a restaurant idea of their own after being inspired by the original McDonald's restaurant in San Bernardino, California. As part of their new restaurant, they bought the rights to a special grill machine called the Insta-Broiler, and named their restaurant "Insta-Burger King."

    Tom, a 23-year-old boy with no business experience, shared the idea with his brother James to buy a pizza place "DomiNick’s" that was located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Five years later, the brothers changed their name to "Domino’s Pizza" which helped to increase their fame around the world.
