    In comparison to John Lennon, George Harrison was the "underrated" Beatle in the group. Considering that majority of his ideas were turned down, and his songs typically ended up on B-Sides of their LP's. "Something" being a single from "Abbey Road" proved that Harrison had talent after all. Thus, like John Lennon, his legacy lives through his lyrics.
  • "The Black Jackets" or "Quarrymen" ?

    Sixteen year old, John Lennon, forms the duo (with Paul McCartney) briefly named: "The Black Jacket's" before realizing that a local band had already taken the name. Then changing their name to the Quarrymen. A friend of McCartney, George Harrison, only came to watch the band and then auditioned for John Lennon. Impressed, but disappointed by George's young age, he declines his talent for entry. Although, persistent as George was (and will be later on) he was then joined as lead guitarist.
  • Johnny and the Moondogs

    The three split up in the winter of 1959, and thus John Lennon began to focus on his studies at the Liverpool College of Art. They kept in touch, however, by mailing each other and billing one another by their name "Johnny and the Moondogs". They would still play at places where a drummer was, in fact, available.
  • "Beatals" are formed.

    Stuart Sutcliffe, a friend of John Lennon, joins the band and changes the name to "Beatals" as tribute to Buddy Holly and The Crickets. That is until the end of spring in which they created the name "Silver Beatles" to make it a bit presentable.
  • George Martin takes The Beatles

    After changing their name to The Beatles, they audition for Decca Records but are turned down. Seeing that they believed "guitar bands are on the way out". They sign for Parlophone later that year, by George Martin, who was offered the opportunity from a fellow friend/producer. George Martin, believing these boys were the next biggest band, takes on the project.

  • The Beatles in America

    A recorded 73 million people watched The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in which the band performed the hit songs: "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "All My Loving," "Till There Was You," "She Loves You," and "I Saw Her Standing There". A few days later, The BEatles performed in Washington D.C., in where they played their first live perfomance in America at the Washington Coliseum. The following day they perform in NYC. Their album reaching the top of the charts for the next eleven weeks.

  • Lennon is Shot and Killed outside of his apartment building.

    On December 8, 1980, in Manhattan, New York City, NY, John Lennon is shot with a .38-caliber revolver by David Chapman in the back four times- killing him. His reason? None at all! He claims he just wanted tot kill famous people, and when his opportunity came, he did it.
