  • The Battle of Dunkirk

    The Battle of Dunkirk
    This battle was fought around the French port of Dunkirk between the Allies and Nazi Germany. In this battle Operation Dynamo was introduced. This is the evacuation from Dunkirk, it also involved the rescue of more than 338,000 British and French soldiers from the French port between May 26 and June 4, 1940. Germany failed during this battle because the Luftwaffe could no longer concentrate overwhelming numbers defenders spread thin over hundreds of miles.
  • The Battle of Moscow

    The Battle of Moscow
    This war was constructed as a military campaign that consisted of two period of strategically significant fighting on a 600 km sector in the Eastern Front. This war was also the first significant defeat of the German army. Georgy Zhukov was considered to the be the hero of the Battle of Moscow, he was the marshal of the Soviet Union and was the most important military commander. Many also consider this war to be the first turning point of World War II on the Eastern Front.

    The battle of Pearl Harbor
    This battle was a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service upon the United States against American naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday, December 7, 1941. The Japanese didn't finish off Pearl Harbor because of a lack of resources and insight. Most of the American battleships were taking on water and were heavenly damaged, but access to dry docks at the harbor proved to be incredibly useful in bringing most of the salvageable mighty vessels.

    This battle was a major one in the Pacific. This war occured six months after the Empire of Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor and one month after the Battle of the Coral Sea. Japan lost the Battle of Midway because of the lack of coherent operational security, and poor decision making in battle. In the Battle of Midway, the Imperial Japanese Navy started a whole misbegotten operation in the first place. This battle was fought almost entirely by aircraft, Resulting in a win for the U.S.
  • The Battle of Stalingrad

    The Battle of Stalingrad
    The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle on the Eastern Front, where Nazi Germany and its allies unsuccessfully fought the Soviet Union in an attempt to gain control of the city of Stalingrad in Southern Russia. In this battle the Soviet Union inflicted a catastrophic defeat of the German Army. This battle stopped the German advance into the Soviet Union and marked the turning of the tide of war in favour of the Allies. Approximately 1.2 million people passed in this battle
  • The Battle of Kursk

    The Battle of Kursk
    A major battle fought on the Eastern Front between the forces of Germany and the Soviet Union located near Kursk in southern Russia during summer of 1943. At the end it ultimately became the largest tank battle in history. Not only this but it also resulted in a Soviet Union Victory. This war marked the decisive end of the German offensive capability and cleared the way for the great Soviet offensives on 1944-1945.

    This battle saw the Anglo-American armies inflict a decisive defeat on the German military machine. This war was nicknamed D-Day. Between D-Day and the end of August some 83,000 British, Canadian, and Polish troops became casualties, of whom almost 16,000 were killed. A total of 4,414 Allied troops were killed on D-Day itself, including 2,501 americans. This was was important because it pushed back against Axis forces until Germany was forced to surrender less than a year later.

    This battle is also referred to as the Ardennes Offensive, it was a major German offensive campaign on the Western Front. It was launched through the densely forested Ardennes region between Belgium and Luxembourg. This battle was the U.S. Army's greatest struggle to deny Adolf Hitler's last chance for victory. Approximately 19,000 men were lost during this battle. This battle was called "the greatest American battle of the war". The battle proved to the costliest ever fought by the U.S. Army.
  • The Battle of Iwo Jima

    The Battle of Iwo Jima
    The Battle of Iwo Jima was a major battle in which the United States Navy landed on and eventually captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Imperial Japanese Army. After this battle, Iwo Jima served as an emergency landing site for more than 2,200 B-29 bombers, saving the lives of 24,000 U.S. airmen. In this battle Marines achieved a costly victory as they grappled with tenacious Japanese defenders dug into the island's volcanic terrain. There were 24,053 casualties, 6,140 died. The U.S. won.
  • The battle of Berlin

    The battle of Berlin
    This war was designated as the Berlin Strategic Offensive Operation by the Soviet Union, and also known as the Fall of Berlin. This war was one of the last major offensives of the European theatre of World War II. This was a very brutal battle because the Soviets were merciless and committed many atrocities against the civilian population in retribution for German brutality earlier in the war. During this war 11% of Berlin's constructed area had been completely destroyed.
