Battles of Lexington and Concord
Firearms and gunpowder were secretly being stocked by civilian soldiers. When General Gage found out, he began to prepare to strike back. On April 19, 1715, the British told the minutemen to leave. As they were leaving a shot was fired and then the battle began. It lasted 15 minutes but within that time 8 minutemen were killed 10 more were injured and 1 British soldier was injured. The British backed off and marched back to Boston but they were trapped and The Americans won the Battle. -
Battle at Bunker Hill
The remaining British troops from the Battle of Lexington and Concord made a second attack on the colonists and even a third. The third attack was a success for the British because the colonists started to run low on ammunition. While the British lost over a thousand men, the colonists lost 450 men. The Battle at Bunker Hill was reported to be the deadliest battle of the war. -
