In the carnival
One afternoon in the madness of the carnival, Mr. Montresor met Fortunato, dressed as a clown, told him that he had received a barrel of amontillado but that he had doubts, Fortunato was surprised.

In the palace

The deception
When they were in the crypt, Mr. Montresor chained Fortunato, took the key and stepped back, began to cover the entrance with construction stones, Fortunato began to scream and then laughed thinking it was a joke and said to Mr. Montresor that it was a good joke, Fortunato replied, for the love of God Montresor. -
The end
After a while there was silence and Mr. Montresor called Fortunato without getting an answer, then introduced a torch through a hole and let it fall, hurried to finish and with much effort put the last stone, covered with dough and for half century nobody has touched them.
