Democritus Atomic Model Picture and Description
His atomic model of an was plain and simple because he only knew about how small particles could not be divided and that there are an infinite number of atoms. Also his model did not include any protons, neutrons or electrons, they had not yet been discovered.

Aristotle's and his Contribution to the Atomic Model
Aristotle did not approve of Democritus idea of atoms existing in 465 B.C. He thought that all materials on Earth were not made of atoms, but of the four elements, Earth, Fire, Water, and Air. He believed all substances were made of small amounts of these four elements of matter.

Democritus and his Contribution to the Atom Model
Democritus was a Greek philosopher and he contributed to the Atoms by helping people with understanding the idea of an atom and helped pave the way for future scientists to look futher deep into the atom theory. The date he discovered the idea of an atom was in 465 B.C. He believed small particles could not be divided and that there were an infinite number of atoms in the world.

The Atomic Timeline
This timeline is about how many people contributed to the atom model and how they changed or fixed them. -
John Dalton and his Contribution to the Atom Model
John Dalton's discovery relating atoms was made in 1803. John's contribution to the atom was pioneering modern atomic theory. He experimented with weighing small particles to help him understand that all matter is made up of indiviviual particles called atoms, which cannot be divided. Plus he also learned that all atoms of the same element have the same mass, and atoms of diffrent elements have diffrent masses. His model was solid spheres. http://www.epcentury.com/aweb/atomicmodels.htm -
John Dalton's Atomic Model Picture and description
John Dalton's Atomic Model is similiar to Democritus, but proposed that all matter is composed of very small things which he called atoms. When Dalton proposed his model electrons and the nucleus were not discovered.

Marie Curie's Contribution to the Atomic Model
Marie Curie is mostly famous for discovering radioactivity. But, she also contributing to the Atomic Theory by discovering that the ability to radiate did not depend on the arrangement of the atoms in molecule, it must be linked to the interior of the atom itself. http://ladailypost.drupalgardens.com/sites/g/files/g616891/f/media_crop/25851/public/Madame%20Currie.jpg -
Marie Curies Atomic Model Picture and description
Marie Curie in this model shows how radioactive relates with the atoms. In a radioactive atom, the nucleus can spontaneously decay and emit particles and/ or light. These emissions are called radiation.

Ernest Rutherford and his Contribution to the Atomic Model
Rutherford made his discovery in 1899. He contributed to the atomic model by discovering that an atom's positive charge is concentrated in it's nucleus. Also he discovered uranium emits fast- moving particles that have a positive charge. Rutherford also hypothesized that the mass and charge at any location in some gold would be too small to change the path of an alpha particle.

Ernest Rutherford's Atomic Model Picture and description
Ernest Rutherford's atomic model shows all of an atoms positive charge and how it is was concentrated in it's nucleus. He was the one that discovered that a atom has a center called a nucleus, a dense, positively charged mass. Protons, neutrons and electrons were already discovered by Thomson, so Rutherford added them in,

J.J. Thomson and his Contribution to the Atom Model
John Dalton made his discovery in 1912. His discovery was electrons and finding that there are positive protons and negative electrons. Also that there was a neutrons that were well neutral. Also his experiments provided the first evidence that atoms are made of even smaller particles. They were called subatomic particles.( protons, neutrons, electrons.) Plus his ''plum-pudding'' model pictured electrons embedded in a sphere of positive electric charge. http://www.epcentury.com/aweb/atomicmodels -

J.J. Thomson's Atomic Model consisted of the newly discovered positive and negative atoms, including neutral.

Niels Bohr's and his Contribution to the Atomic Theory
Niels Bohr made his discovery in 1913. His contribution was it focused more on electrons than in Rutherford's model. Electrons move with constant speed in fixed orbits around the nucleus. He found out that electrons have possible energies in an atom that are called energy levels. Also an electron in an atom can move from one energy level to another when the atom gains or loses energy. http://www.epcentury.com/aweb/atomicmodels.htm -
Niels Bohrs Atomic Model Picture and description
Bohrs model looks like the electrons moving in spherical orbits at fixed distances from the nucleus. His model focused more on electrons, than on the nucleus. Although, Bohr agreed with Rutherford's model on the nucleus.

Louis de Broglie and his Contribution to the Atomic Model
Louis de Broglie proposed his ideas in 1924. His discovery of the Atomic Model was that moving particles like electrons have some properties of waves.

Erwin Shrodinger and his Contribution to the Atomic Model
Erwin discovered the electron cloud model in 1926. He was the one that learned that an atom has an electron cloud, which is a visual model of the most likely locations for electrons in an atom. With his discovery, scientists can now use the electron cloud model to describe the possible locations of electrons around the nucleus. http://www.malaspina.com/jpg/schrodinger.jpg -
Erwin Shrodinger's Atomic Model Picture and description
Erwin Shrodinger's Atomic model describes the motion of electrons in atoms. His work leads to the electron cloud model. Also he developed mathematical equations to describe the motion of electrons.
