Tobacco the Cash Crop
John Rolfe had tobacco seeds which were the first to be grown by white settlers in America. This tobacco later helped pay for some of the debts which were needed by the English bankers who were in crisis. -
Slavery
Slavery was implemened to help assist tobacco production and other lucrative crops. -
The Mayflower
The first ship to carry pilgrims and get them to America, it carried wine and dried goods. The pilgrims later had an alliance with the Indians and learned to grow crops. -
