Stamp Act
The Stamp act was passed by the British Parliament in late march of 1765. The new tax required all American colonists to pay tax on every piece of printer paper they would use. This event is asymmetrical, because the British thought the Americans would just obey their orders, but instead the Americans fought to not have it.

Lexington and Concord
The British soldiers went to Lexington and shots were fired. The British were forced to retreat. The British headed to Concord to confiscate weapons. Most of them were hidden. A battle broke out at the North Bridge in Concord and the British were forced to retreat again. This battle was asymmetrical, because the British weren't expecting the Patriots to win.

Bunker (Breeds) Hill
On June 17, over 2,000 British Forces landed on the Charlestown Peninsula then marched to Breeds Hill. When the British were several yards away, the Americans let loose with a barrage of musket fire. This threw the British into retreat. The British attacked hand to hand combat with the Americans and won.

The Battle of Saratoga was a turning point for the Revolutionary war. General John Burgoyne won a small victory against American forces. Burgoyne attacked again at Bemis Heights, and was defeated and forced to retreat. October 17th he surrendered, convincing the French to be the Americans allies in the War.

Continental Army wintering at Valley Forge
The Continental Army entered their winter camp at Valley Forge. George Washington chose that place because it was easy to defend if under British attack. Hundreds of men died from disease there. They were being trained, and became more discipline afterwards.

War in the south/Charleston
An attack was launched against the town Charleston, South Carolina. Over 5,000 Patriot men were captured. After this victory, British put more of their control into South Carolina and Georgia. This war is symmetrical , because the British got what they wanted to happen.

Battle of Yorktown
Yorktown was the final battle of the American Revolution. American force troops attacked the British on October 14. They captured two British defenses and lead to the surrender of the British. The British started wanting peace negotiations shortly after the Americans had won.
