Battle of Monmouth
A few women took part in this battle. Mary Ludwig Hays carried water to the soldiers, which included her husband. When her husband was injured, she took over his role of loading and firing the cannon. -
Battle of Yorktown
General George Washington, with a force of 17,000 French and Continential troops, begins the seige of yorktown from the British. Three weeks of fighting from cannon and artillery , the British surrendered in the field of Yorktown to the Patriots. This battle ended the War for Independence.
