Stamp act of 1765
The stamp act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765 the new tax imposed on all American colonist and required them to pay tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Ships paper, legal documents, license, newspaper, other publications, even playing cards were taxed. -

Intolerable acts
In response to the Boston tea party, the crown passed a series of laws:

First continental congress

Battles of Lexington and Concord
These battles signaled the start of the American revolutionary war. The British set out to captures Samuel Adams and John Hancock, but the colonist were warned and they were able to escape Lexington and hide their weapons. The British march to Concord while the colonist retreated to the outskirts of Concord onto opposite side of the north bridge the Americans march across the bridge and defeated the British. -
