It was the last attempt to try and prevent formal war from being declared. It emphasized their loyalty to the British and their rights as British citizens. -

The Battle of Bunker Hill was fought during the Siege of Boston during the first stage of the Revolutionary War. It is named after Bunker Hill in Charlestown, Massachusetts. -

Thomas Paine's Common Sense was a book that was spread between each of the colonies. It advocated independence from Great Britain. -
Articles of Confederation created
This document served as the United States' first constitution. It was in use from March 1, 1781, until 1789 when the present day constitution came into place. -
Great Compromise
It was an agreement during the Constitutional Convention of 1787. It stated that in part defined the legislative structure and representation each state would have under the United States constitution. -
Bill of Rights Adopted
President Washington sent copies of the 12 amendments adopted by Congress to the states.Three-fourths of the states had ratified 10 of these which are now known as the "Bill of Rights."
