    A Tax the British government imposed on colonists. The Tax tripled the price of all things that were shipped into the country.
    The stamp act was expected for the British seeing as they were the ones to intact it.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    It was an event with multiple perspectives. It started at around 9 pm when colonist started to throw snowballs at British troops. The British responded by shooting killing 3 men.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was a way of rebelling against the British government for taxation without representation. The sons of liberty dressed up as Native Americans and poured crates of tea from 3 boats into the harbor. They then burned the boats and successfully closed down the harbor.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The British were advancing on colonists in Concord and Lexington. Paul Revere light lanterns warning the Minutemen who came to intercept the British. The result was a retreat from the British and the end to what is thought of as the first battle in the revolutionary war.

    Bunker Hill

    Common sense is a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine. Published in 1776 it advocated independence for America.

    Shape wise the pamphlet is symmetrical but the British did not think some one would go as far as to write a pamphlet so it is asymmetrical.

    The Declaration of Independence was an idea the continental congress came up with as a way to declare independence from Britain. It saw written by Thomas Jefferson and signed by all the members of the congress. The British probably thought that the Americans would just try work it out with the crown in fear but they declared independence which was definitely asymmetrical
  • Battle of Trenton/Princeton

    Battle of Trenton/Princeton
    A battle that took place on Christmas Eve over a cease fire. It is when General George Washington famously crossed the Delaware. The colonists managed to defeat the hessians working for Britain in this battle.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    A battle that took place in New York. It was a major turning point for the colonists pivotal victory. This battle encouraged the French to go against the British. This gave the Americans more troops and weapons.
  • Continental Army wintering at Valley Forge

    Continental Army wintering at Valley Forge
    11,000 men camped out at the camp 22 miles from the British. hundreds of those men died of disease.   • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    A force of 17,000 French and Americans went up against 9000 British in Virginia. George Washington blocked of the escapes around Yorktown. This led to a surrender by Cornwallis and the end of the war.
