The Battle of Long Island

Howe defeated Lee, and Lee rereated to Brooklyn Heights. When Washington arrived, he relized that they were in a trap, and Howe took advantage and cut Washington off. Washington mangaed to escape with his entire army and all the weapons across the East River. -
The Battle of Trenton

Washinton marched his troops all through the night to arrive at a Hessian picket gaurd at eight o'clock in the morning. They surprised the Hessians and won the battle. It boosted the Colonists spirits and gave them a much needed victory, -
